Warrior Belt (Protective Clothing)

Description

The belt is made of brass, plant fibres with cowries as decoration. It is a kind of protective clothing used for warfare or headhunting. The wider section is worn at the back to protect against sword blows. Muton, Banpara, Joboka and Sangloi lived in present-day Assam and today refer to themselves as Wancho, Nocte and Konyak-Naga.
