The basket is woven from plant fibres (bamboo and/or rattan) and decorated with tufts of grass, seed pods and glass beads as well as four bird skins. The warrior basket is used as a ritual basket for headhunting dances. It was used by the so-called Naga groups of Banpara, Joboka and Sangloi, as they were referred to at the time of acquisition. Today, these groups are called Wancho, Nocte or Konyak Naga.
