Description

The basket is woven from plant fibre and decorated with seedpods, glass beads, tufts of grass, bone and animal skins. It is a ritual basket used in headhunting dances. It comes from the area formerly known as Banpara (name of the village). Today, the inhabitants of the area in the present-day state of Assam use the names Wancho, Nocte or Konyak Naga.
