Das Bild zeigt die Werkstatt eines Schuhmachers. Im Vordergrund sieht man einen sitzenden Herrn, der unter den kritischen Blicken des Meisters Schuhe anprobiert. Der Kupferstich gehört zum "Ständebuch", dem wichtigsten Werk von Christoph Weigel, dem Älteren.
