Johann Heinrich Lips (1758-1817) zeichnete und stach das Profilbildnis des Schweizer Malers und Publizisten Johann Heinrich Füßli (1741-1825), Sohn des mit Winckelmann befreundeten Malers und Schríftstelles Johann Caspar Füssli, für Lavaters zweiten Band seiner physiognomischen Fragmente. Anhand dieses ausgesprochen markanten Gesichtsprofils lässt sich das Porträt des Malers Füßli vom gleichnamigen Historiker und Staatsmann Johann Heinrich Füßli (1745-1832) unterscheiden, der ebenfalls mit Winckelmann befreudet war und auch von Lips porträtiert wurde.
