Description

Aus dem Bug des gedrungenen Pferdchens ragt eine gekantete Tülle mit der Brennöffnung der Lampe vor. Der klappbare Sattel diente zum Nachfüllen des Öls. Das Gefäß war ebenso zum Aufstellen wie zum Hängen eingerichtet, ein Bein des Tieres ist jetzt gebrochen. – Aus dem spätantiken und frühbyzantinischen Kunstgewerbe sind sehr wenige Bronzepferdchen als Lampen oder Gießgefäße erhalten.
