Die Beziehung zwischen Maria und Jesus ist in diesem Werk besonders rührend. Das Kind friert und reibt sich die Hände, während ihn die Mutter mit dem Mantel abdeckt. Dieses herrliche Kunstwerk wird Antonio Rossellino zugeschrieben, wobei es einer Terrakotta im Victoria and Albert Museum in London ähnelt, die Leonardo da Vinci zugeschrieben wird – könnte dieses Relief auch von Leonardo sein?

The relationship between Mary and Jesus is especially touching in this work. The child feels cold and rubs his hands, while his mother covers him with her coat. This splendid work of art has been attributed to Antonio Rossellino, but it resembles a terracotta in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, that has been attributed to Leonardo da Vinci – could this relief also be by Leonardo?
