Anbetung des Kindes mit dem heiligen Joseph und die Verkündigung an die Hirten
um 1470/80. Terrakotta

Unmittelbar nach seiner Geburt, die am Weihnachtstag gefeiert wird, wird Jesus von seiner Mutter Maria angebetet. Ihr Ehemann Joseph betet auf der linken Seite im Hintergrund, während rechts ein Engel den Hirten die Geburt des Erlösers der Menschheit verkündet. Dieses Werk wurde von einem Marmorrelief von Antonio Rossellino abgeleitet; es wurde wahrscheinlich von einem Gesellen in seiner Werkstatt erstellt.

Immediately after his birth, celebrated on Christmas Day, Jesus is adored by his mother Mary. Her husband Joseph is praying in the left background while, on the right, an angel announces to shepherds the birth of the savior of mankind. This work is derived from a marble relief by Antonio Rossellino; it was probably made by an assistant within his workshop.
