Description

Dies ist die Muschel Grammysia exarata LINDSTRÖM.

Diese mit Byssusfäden (dem "Bart") festgeheftete Muschel war in ganz Nordeuropa verbreitet. Ihre dicke Schale und die kompakte Form schützten sie auch bei starker Wasserbewegung. Daher konnte sie sich gut in Hohlräumen in Riffen halten. Muscheln waren im Silur noch selten, stattdessen dominierten Armfüßer (Brachiopoden).
