Description

Ganzfiguriges Bildnis des Fürsten Leopold III. Friedrich Franz v. Anhalt-Dessau (1740-1817) nach links. Er trägt einen roten Rock, gelblichbraune Kniehosen und Weste und einen Degen an der linken Seite. In der rechten Hand hält er im Zeigegestus einen schwarzen Hut. Im Hintergrund sind Bäume, Sträucher und sind antike Ruinen erkennbar, vorn links zu seinen Füßen schaut ein antikes Relief mit einer Vasendarstellung aus dem Boden.
Das Bild ist eine Kopie nach Anton von Maron (1733-1808). Das Maronsche Original entstand 1766 während des ersten Rom-Aufenthaltes des Fürsten. Es befand sich bis 1918 in Schloss Wörlitz (KSDW)
