Dies ist die Runzelkoralle Cyathophyllum (Cyathophyllum) dianthus GOLDFUSS.

Diese Tiere waren Riffbewohner im Flachmeer des heutigen Rheinischen Schiefergebirges. Sie lebten koloniebildend, das heißt dass viele Tiere zu einer Kolonie zusammengewachsen waren. In dem Bild stellt jede eckige Öffnung den Kelch eines einzelnen Tieres dar.
