Description

1834 gründete Friedrich Kauffmann (1811-1874) in Esslingen am Neckar eine der ersten Senffabriken in Deutschland. 1838 bezog das Unternehmen die Gebäude des ehemaligen Klosters Denkendorf, das jedoch ohne Eisenbahnanschluss als Produktionsstätte auf Dauer ungeeignet war, so dass die Firma im Jahr 1905 auf das Gelände einer ehemaligen Zementfabrik in Ebersbach an der Fils umzog. Neben "Klostersenf" stellte Kauffmann noch "Monachiasenf" und "Ebersenf" her. Im April 2000 ging die Traditionsfirma in Konkurs und wurde im Anschluss von der Firma Kühne aus Hamburg übernommen.
