Das Frontispiz im "European magazin" erschien zum Tod Carl Wilhelm Ferdinands, der als der Aufklärung zugewandter Herrscher geschätzten wurde, als Feldherr eine legendäre Gestalt war und als Oberbefehlshaber der antinapoleonischen Armee fiel.
