Brustbild nach links, Kopf und Blick nach rechts, in ovalem, oben mit Girlande geschmückten Steinrahmen an Wand; darunter Schrifttafel.

Vorlage: Hüftstück nach links, Kopf fast im Profil nach rechts, um 1780, Privatbesitz Radebeul (Berckenhagen Nr. 55)

Bauses Porträt, gestochen von seinem Schüler Grögory, erschien als Frontispiz der "Neuen Bibliothek der schönen Wissenschaften und der freyen Künste" (Jg. 1788). Graff hat Bause mehrfach gemalt. Das vorliegende Porträt stellt den Freund und Kupferstecher mit Hausmütze und dem Blick zur Seite (eine Bildformel für Inspiration) als Künstler dar.
