Description

Topas (Al2[(F,OH)2|SiO4) gehört zu den Inselsilikaten. Er zeichnet sich durch seine hohe Härte (8 auf der Mohs-Skala) aus und wird in klarer Form als Edelstein verwendet.
Hier ist er als transparent-grauer komplexer Kristall auf großen sechseckigen Tafeln des Lithiumglimmers Lepidolith (K(Li,Al)3[(F,OH)2|(Si,Al)4O10]) aufgewachsen. Beide Mineralien sind typsch für Pegmatite, die sich in Resthohlräumen granitischer Magmen bilden.
