Description

Elementarer Schwefel (S) kommt als Mineral oft z.B. in Gips- oder Coelestin-Lagerstätten vor. Dort stellt er das Reduktionsprodukt dieser Sulfate dar, wenn sie bei erhöhter Temperatur mit organischem Material (z.B. Kohle, Bitumen) in ihrer Umgebung reagieren. Immer zeigt er die typische gelbe Farbe; gute Kristalle sind jedoch selten zu finden.
