Querformatiges Buch, Pappeinband mit Titel „Historischer Atlas nach Angaben von Heinrich Dittmar“; Universitätsbuchhandlung Karl Winter, Heidelberg, 1854. Lederrücken und Lederecken. Rückseitig Reklame für Heinrich Dittmar‘s Bücher aufgedruckt.
Innen 2 Titelblätter (1. u. 2. Abteilung in einem Band), sowie 15 großformatige historische Karten in Farblithographie, gefertigt von Maximilian Joseph Frommann.

Frontseitig und auf Innentitel je ein Besitzereintrag in Tintenschrift: „Gotthilf Mayer“ (verm. von dem späteren württembergischen Pfarrer Gotthilf Michael Mayer, 1843-1924).

Der Verfasser Heinrich Dittmar war Schulrektor in Grünstadt.
