Description

Der Offizier Wilhelm von Clossmann (1788 - 1855) nahm 1805-1815 an acht Feldzügen teil. Seit 1840 war er Kommandeur der 2. Großherzoglich Badischen Infanterie-Brigade und Kommandant der Festung Rastatt, ab 1843 als Generalmajor. 1840 bis 1849 war er Kommandeur der Festung Rastatt.

1848 führte er badische Truppen in den Gefechten bei Kandern und Freiburg. Am 11. Mai 1849 wurde er - im Rahmen des Soldatenaufstandes in Rastatt - schwer verwundet. Er nahm seinen Abschied am 6. Januar 1850 und verstarb 1855 in Achern.
