Description

The earring belongs to the figured type. Its main detail is a pendant made of two plates cut according to the contour of the composition. The plates are soldered together, and a high wire bracket in the form of a hook is firmly fixed between them. On one of the plates, there is a frontal image of a woman in an elegant dress, who sits in a majestic pose on a throne with zoomorphic images of sphinxes and ram heads. Pear-shaped pendants are attached with wire rings at the bottom and on the sides. In the image of a woman researchers see the Asia Minor goddess Cybele or the Scythian goddess Argimpas, who personified the cult of fertility.
A hryvna and a glass necklace were also found in the costume complex of this Scythian woman, who was, according to anthropologists, 20–23 years old. A maid accompanied the deceased to the afterlife. Weapons were also found with the deceased: arrows and a spear. Presumably, during her lifetime the Scythian woman was an "Amazonian" – a warrior woman. Perhaps she was entrusted with the functions of the priestess of the goddess Argimpasa, in whose honor weapons played a certain role.
