This is a diadem with a figured upper frieze. It is inlaid with amber. The decor is complemented with an ornament of triangles made of granulation and rows of spirally twisted metal ribbons, that look like a braid. This diadem belongs to a wide range of monuments of the Hunnic polychrome style, spread from Kazakhstan to western Hungary and southwestern Poland. Headdresses were decorated with these ornaments, they were worn as crowns or headbands, sewn onto a leather or woven base. Currently more than 20 such tiaras are known, most of which were discovered in the Black Sea region.
