Theatrical bronze mask along with two others are from the burial of a young Sarmatian woman from the mound near the village of Chuhuno-Krepynka. They were found in various places in the grave, but their location next to parts of horse harness and the remains of leather belts suggest that they were attached to the horse's bridle, performing the function of protective charms. However, this is already a secondary use of masks. Initially, they served as decorations for Roman furniture, caskets and tableware.
