The Podillia horizontal flatweave carpet is made in the weft weaving technique. It is decorated with stylized floral and zoomorphic ornament. In the upper part, the craftswoman depicted a scene of meeting. A woman treats soldiers and probably their commander. The human figures are much smaller than the fantastic flower-pots. Sometimes they even get lost among them. The weaver skillfully conveyed the essence of the event, emphasized the gestures, character of its participants and small household details. Similar story scenes are often found on the Podillia kilims.
