Brief an einen unbekannten Komes über einen Besuch in Alexandreia. Bei der Ankunft wurden die Speicher in Neapolis überschwemmt vorgefunden. Nachdem der Konsul zur Inspektionsreise ins Nordwestdelta aufgebrochen ist, betritt der Absender zusammen mit Gefährten die Stadt, nicht ohne durch einen Kleiderwechsel einer möglichen Konfrontation (?) vorzubeugen. Die lange Reise hat ihnen kaum ausreichend Kleidung gelassen.

Beschrieben wird die gemeinsam formulierte Forderung der wichtigsten Bürger (von Hermupolis?), gut beleumdete Leute mit speziellem Auftrag nach Alexandreia zu senden. Es geht wohl um Deiche und die Überbringung (?) eines Schriftstücks. Ein Zusammenhang mit dem Schreiben auf der Gegenseite (SB XXIV 16164) ist möglich.
