Description

Lithografie von Alfred Kubin (1877-1959) auf dünnem Büttenpapier nach einer Federzeichnung. Der Tod in langem Mantel hängt in einem Apfelbaum und sticht mit einem Pfeil einem am Boden liegenden Mann in den Rücken. Der Mann hat Äpfel geerntet, sie liegen zum Teil im Korb, zum Teil am Boden verstreut. Am Bildrand eilt ein Bauer mit geschultertem Rechen dem Mann zu Hilfe; signiert handschriftlich mit Bleistift unten rechts: "Kubin", links mit Bleistift nummeriert: "VIII / XXV".
