Das kleine Buch mit Silbereinband enthielt 130 Miniaturblätter von denen einige fehlen.
Es handelt sich um das Alte Testament in Bildern. Der Begriff "Vade mecum", lat. "Geh' mit mir!", beschreibt bildhaft die Funktion des Büchleins als Begleiter und Ratgeber. Das Vade mecum wurde eng am Körper getragen.
