A Chinese sword, so-called dao, with a slight curved, single edged steel blade. A fuller runs on both sides along the blade's spine. On the blade are Chinese characters. The round, flat guard is provided with a metal hook resp. a hanging decive on one side. The wooden handle ends in a metal pommel and is entwisted with a yellow textile cord. The scabbard is made from balsa wood and covered with fish skin(?) that is painted black. The scabbard has metal mounts.
Else Lang-Höhne donated the sword to the Museum of the City of Ulm in 1934.
