The outer shape of the ring is approximately round, while the inside shows a slightly angular shape, due to the two attachments. The cross-section of the bar is square with rounded corners.
On top of the ring is a wide bar, upon which sits a round bronze knob. It is straight on top with blunt bends at the edges and tapers rapidly toward the bar. Another bar sits on the opposite side of the ring, hanging slightly over the knob. This bar is round with a flat top and an outward-pointing triangular projection in the upper half. A faint line can be seen running horizontally through it. This may possibly indicate a beak, and the hook-shaped appliqué could be seen as a stylized bird's head, perhaps a bird of prey.
