Der Heimatforscher Ernst Zink fand im Archiv der Fürsten zu Leiningen in Amorbach eine Rechnung über auf dem Michaelismarkt gekauftes Leder des Burggrafen in Bissersheim aus dem Jahr 1417. Daher feierte man 2016 den 600. Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt und 2017 „600 Jahre Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt“.
