Die ungelaufene und unbeschriftete Postkarte zeigt ein Gemälde von August Spinner aus dem Jahr 1904 in schwarz-weiß mit der Beschriftung: "Die ersten Totenopfer des deutsch-französischen Krieges 1870-71. / Gefecht am 25. Juli 1870 im Schirlenhof (bei Woerth) zwischen einer badischen Rekognoszierungs-Patrouille unter Befehl des württembergischen Hauptmannes Grafen v. Zeppelin und einer Abteilung des französischen 12e. régiment de chasseurs à cheval unter Befehl des lieutenant de Chabot."
