Description

Das 1817 bei einem Besuch des Dichters Voß bei seinem Sohn in Eutin entstandene Brustbild fast im Profil von Wilhelm Tischbein entstand in mehreren Repliken und Kopien (Erstfassung in der Nationalgalerie Berlin, weitere u. a. in Eutin und im Frankfurter Goethe-Museum). Tischbeins Werk weist eine hochkarätige Folge von Dichterporträts auf - Bodmer, Goethe, Klopstock, Voß.
Die vorliegende verkleinerte Kopie gelangte 2012 aus der Familie des einstigen Gleimhaus-Direktors Dr. Carl Becker in das Gleimhaus.
