Description

Das Fossil stammt nach Angaben zum Objekt von Walter Hoffmann aus der Fundstelle Mount Bolca (Italien). Vergleichbare Funde sind auch aus der Fossillagerstätte Holzmaden in Baden-Württemberg bekannt.
Bei diesem Fossil handelt es sich um einen ausgestorbenen barschartigen Fisch mit Strahlenflossen. Die Art existierte bis etwa 40 Millionen Jahre im Tethys-Ozean, einem großen tropischen Meer in dem Gebiet, das heute dem Mittelmeer entspricht.
