Die Kirche von Gelmeroda gehört zu den Lieblingsmotiven des Bauhauskünstlers und verhalf dem Weimarer Ortsteil zu Weltruhm. Die geometrisch angelegte abstrakte Komposition besteht überwiegend aus Linien und vereinzelten Flächen in Schwarz.
