Description

Heartmate II: vollimplantierbare Axialpumpe (LVAD=Left Ventricular Assist Device), die in Parallelschaltung zum linken Herzen betrieben wurde. Am Objekt befindet sich ein abgeschnittener Anschluss aus weißem Kunststoff. Die Löcher für Ein- und Ausfluss sind offen. Antriebskabel, Controller sowie Energieversorgung waren außerhalb am Körper platziert. Weltweit wurden 26.600 dieser Gerät implantiert, entweder als Brücke zur Herztransplantation oder als Alternative dazu (Stand 2021).
