Description

Dieser Holzschnitt ist in zwei Exemplaren erhalten (s. Objektgruppe). Dorothea Milde "porträtiert" hier Orchideenblüten in ihrer bizarren Formgebung, die sie stark fokussiert, so dass weder die Stängel noch das Gefäß, in dem die Orchideen stecken, zu sehen ist, noch ein Hintergrund gestaltet ist. Ein relativ starker Rahmen spannt die Blütendarstellung ein.

(NLMx Hz 308) ähnliche Art der Erfassung von Blumen. um 1915.

Handschriftlich bezeichnet: "Orchideen." - "Dorothea Milde" / "Holzschnitt - Handdruck".
Das Monogramm Dorothea Mildes links unten.
