Am 30.01.1849 wurde Engelbert Birgel in der Dorfstraße 147 (spätere Kerpener Straße 7) geboren. Er leitete hier die Kaiserliche Postagentur in Sindorf von 1884-1918. Engelbert Birgel starb am 03.11.1918 in Sindorf. Das Schild hing im Jahr 1949 an diesem Haus.
