Description

Das um 1790 gefertigte Service hat gleich in zweierlei Hinsicht Bedeutung für die Geraer Stadtgeschichte. Es stammt zum einen aus dem Besitz der ehemaligen Geraer Landesherren, der Fürstenfamilie Reuß jüngerer Linie, zum anderen wurde es in der Porzellanmanufaktur Gera-Untermhaus gefertigt. Das Service trägt die Namen des seit 1784 regierenden Grafen Heinrich XLII. von Reuß-Schleiz, seiner Frau Caroline und zwei seiner Kinder, Philippine und Heinrich LVIII.
