Description

The preserved depiction shows a naked, pot-bellied man drawing wine from a crater with a ladle. Due to the black varnish coating on the back, the sherd belongs to a wide-necked vessel. The convex curvature therefore suggests a colonnette crater, i.e. a typical vessel for the symposion. (AVS)
