Description

Der Drei-Pfostenstuhl ist dunkel gefasst. Seine drei konstituierenden Pfosten sind in Drechslerarbeit durchgebildet. Die Armlehnen und die das Rückenbrett stützenden Streben sind als Kugelgirlanden gearbeitet. Das Rückenbrett trägt ein geschnitztes übermaltes florales Motiv.
Der Sitz ist aus Binsen geflochten. Zwischen den Beinen unter dem Sitz sind die Pfosten verstrebt.
In ländlichen Regionen fand der Drei-Pfostenstuhl hauptsächlich am Niederrhein und in Westfalen Verbreitung. Bis ins späte 18. Jahrhundert wurden Stühle dieser Art hergestellt.
