Das Dekor ist auf den Pfeifenkopf von Hand aufgemalt.
Vorerseite: Auf Seiten Rosenranke als Verzierung. In der Mitte Faß mit Krone; aus Faß ragen links ein Holthammer und rechts ein Beil. Zwei Tiere flankieren das Faß. Darunter seht als Text der Name "Johann Mathias Giesen".
Rückseite: Lieber Vater sei - beglückt, Denk an - Deinen Sohn - zurück. - Andenken von meinem Sohne - Mathias Giesen - bei d: 7ten Corps - 2ten G Comp - in Berlin 1840
