Description

Gesteinsprobe aus feinkörnigem, gelb-braunem Gildehauser Sandstein. Küstenferne, feinsandige Ausbildung mit Schwammnadeln.
Der Sandstein ist ein in der Region bekanntes Hauterive-Gestein, welches in einem breiten Streifen auf etwa 9 km Länge zwischen Bad Bentheim im Osten und Gildehaus im Westen vorkommt. Die Bentheimer Bucht war im Hauterive ein biologisch hochproduktiver Meeresbereich.
