Diese Vase aus mattiertem (Ätzung?) überfangenem orangefarbigem Glas (Opalglas) erinnert an die im 19. Jahrhundert zu einem Verkaufsschlager avancierten Jasperware. Die Mattierung des Glases imitiert gleichsam den rauen Biskuitcharakter der Jasperware. Porzellan und Glas stehen in Europa seit 1711 in Materialkonkurrenz. Dieses Stück vermittelt eine Nachahmung des Steinguts in Glas. Ein/e Glasmaler*in trug auf das durch Kühlung entspannte Glas die Email-Farbe auf.

Mundgeblasenes, überfangenes, orange-farbiges Glas, mit weißer Email-Farbe bemalt.
