Description

Kupferstich, Tafel 1 aus einer Serie von 4 Tafeln mit Darstellungen zur Herstellung von Fächern. Teil der französischen Enzyklopädie "Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers".

Zweizonige Darstellung auf hochrechteckigem Blatt: Oben Einblick in eine Werkstatt mit fünf Arbeiterinnen, die Papiere zur Herstellung von Fächern vorbereiten und auf Rahmen spannen. In der unteren Zone Abbildungen der verwendeten Materialen bzw. Werkzeuge sowie ein Maßstab.

Unten betitelt (in Platte): "Éventailliste, Colage et Préparation du Papiers."
Unten rechts: "Benard direxit" (Leiter der Produktion)
