Description

Dieses Werkzeug diente dem Formenmacher, einem in der Glasindustrie spezialisierten Fabrik-Drechsler, aus Hartholz (Birne/Buche) Formen, Negative bzw. Matrizen herzustellen. Diese ermöglichten beim Ausblasen durch den Glasmacher eine standardisierte Produktion, gleichwohl die Passgenauigkeit durch die Verkohlung anders als bei Graphitformen nach vielfacher Nutzung schwand. Formenmacher waren in der arbeitsteiligen Glasindustrie wichtige Facharbeiter.
