Description

Die Göttin Athena, eine Tochter des Zeus und der Metis, zählt in der griechischen Mythologie zu den zwölf olympischen Gottheiten. Sie ist Göttin der Weisheit, des Kampfes und der Kunst sowie Schutzgöttin und Namensgeberin der griechischen Stadt Athen. Ihr bedeutendstes Heiligtum war der Parthenon auf der Akropolis in Athen. In der römischen Mythologie ist ihre Entsprechung die Göttin Minerva.
Im antiken Griechenland sind zahlreiche Statuen der Athena geschaffen worden.
