Der Simshobel ist datiert, er trägt einen Brandstempel mit dem Monogramm seines ehemaligen Besitzers "JF", zu beiden Seiten steht das Jahr "18 64", in dem derdamals vermutlich neue Hobel in dessen Besitz kam.
