Description

Ein Mandel war ein im Handel verwendetes Zählmaß für aufgewundene Garn- und Flechtstränge auf eine Zählhaspel (regional in unterschiedlicher Länge). Die um 1900 übliche Bezeichnung dieser Form der Strohborte lautet "Sechshalm, schwarz/weiß". Als Material wurden sechs ganze ungespaltene Strohhalme verwendet, von dem ein Teil vor dem Flechten eingefärbt wurde, um einen Farbkontrast zu erzielen.
