Das Bild zählt zur Porträtfotosammlung bekannter Dresdner Bürger und deutscher Politiker, die der vom Museumsgründer Otto Richter angelegten Ehrengalerie gleicht, von dessen Nachfolgern ab 1913 aber eher zur städtischen Bildsammlung entwickelt wurde.
