Schlossherr Philipp Graf zu Eulenburg ließ das Fliesenbild mit der Alexanderschlacht um 1900 an der Wand des Waffensaales des Liebenberger Schlosses anbringen. Der Waffensaal war einer von mehreren repräsentativen Salons des Schlosses. In den Salons wurden häufig Gesellschaften empfangen, die Eulenburg auch aufgrund seiner engen Freundschaft mit dem Kaiser Wilhelm II. in Liebenberg gab.
