Description

Das Europäische Ziesel besiedelt die Steppen Südosteuropas und ist in der Türkei und Teilen des Balkans zu finden. Einzelne Vorkommen existieren auch in Österreich und in der Tschechischen Republik. Das einzige deutsche Vorkommen bei Oelsen im Osterzgebirge ist um 1950 erloschen.
