Description

Der Rauhfußkauz ist ein Brutvogel alter, ausgedehnter Waldgebiete. Seine Jungen zieht er bevorzugt in Schwarzspechthöhlen auf. Ein Fressfeind des Rauhfußkauzes ist der häufige Waldkauz (Strix aluco). Tritt dieser in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zum kleineren Rauhfußkauz auf, kann dies dazu führen, dass er sein Revier aufgibt. Das Präparat zeigt ein junges Männchen.
